Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus is a document of paramount importance.
In accordance with article 74, all presidential candidates, following their registration, have an equal right to speak at pre-election and other gatherings, and meetings. Their speeches can be aired on state television.
That is why, today, on July 28th, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya submitted a request asking to be invited to deliver an address during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, scheduled on August 3rd. This is the last parliamentary session taking place prior to the start of the early voting period. The current president will speak at the same session.
The incumbent president is also in the status of a candidate, and, according to article 73, all presidential candidates have equal rights and equal responsibilities.
